UPV Innovation

UPV Innovation is an articulated system of research structures and central services of the UPV that catalyze and promote relations with companies, with the public sector and with social groups and that promote the entrepreneurship of new ideas and solutions.

Equipped with a governance system from the senior management of the UPV, staff from these units participate in an annual work program with a diversity of initiatives aimed at linking with the environment, the valorization and dissemination of research results and the promotion of the culture of innovation at the UPV.

From the proximity to the academic community, UPV Innovation interacts with large companies, with SMEs, with investors, with consultants, with business developers, with technology and research centers, with governments, with associations, with hospitals.

Because innovation requires interaction between different roles, disciplines and perspectives. Because innovation leads us to test and redo.

UPV Innovation is the Knowledge Transfer Office of the UPV, approved by the Governing Council of the UPV and registered in the Register of KTOs (formerly OTRIs) of the Ministry of Science and Innovation. UPV Innovation is a member of the RedOTC of the CRUE.

UPV Innovation is aimed at all people and entities that seek to transform knowledge into impact:

• UPV students and graduates with ideas, talent and entrepreneurial initiative.
• Researchers and research groups of UPV interested in transferring their results or developing joint projects.
• Companies that want to incorporate innovation, solve technological challenges or collaborate with the UPV.
• Agents of the innovation ecosystem and investors who are committed to transfer and entrepreneurship.
• Public administrations and institutions that seek solutions based on science and technology.
• Research and innovation policy makers, with whom we want to collaborate in their design and evaluation as users of them.
• Society in general, to which we want to bring the science and innovation that is done at the UPV.

UPV Innovation is a transversal structure formed by multiple structures, units and programs of the Universitat Politècnica de València that actively collaborate to promote knowledge transfer, entrepreneurship and connection with the environment.

It is coordinated by the Promotion and Support Service for Research, Innovation and Transfer, i2T, dependent on the Vice-Rectorate for Innovation and Transfer.

With varying degrees of involvement, more than 70 people from at least 30 academic units and central services participate in UPV Innovation.
