Polytechnic City of Innovation

Science Park

The Polytechnic City of Innovation (CPI) is the Science Park of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). The Science Park is conceived as a space, not only in physical terms, to connect university, business and society in order to streamline the generation of knowledge-intensive activities. The CPI aims to contribute to capitalise the UPV’s knowledge generating impact by transferring its results and contributing to socio-economic development.

Institutes and research centers

The Polytechnic City of Innovation houses a large part of the research activity of the UPV (organized in research institutes ) over a total of 140,000 m2 of scientific infrastructure and projects to society the activity carried out by more than 3,000 researchers.

Business

In the Polytechnic City of Innovation there is also space for companies.

  • Start-up: initiatives that arise from students or graduates of the UPV.
  • Spin-off: promoted by researchers from the UPV, based on research results that are property of the UPV.
  • Corporate laboratories of companies that have a strong collaboration with the UPV both in research and recruitment of talent.

Management entity

The management and promotion of collaboration among the stakeholders of the Science Park is the responsibility of the Polytechnic City of Innovation Foundation, a non-profit organization promoted by the Universitat Politècnica de València.

In its Open Innovation model, the Polytechnic City of Innovation collaborates closely with public and private research and innovation promotion organizations:
