Carbon Harvesters

Carbon Harvesters is an agri-tech start-up that helps farms, cooperatives and agri-food companies monitor their carbon and biodiversity footprint, identify viable mitigation strategies, and certify the risks and opportunities.
The company has developed software that enables livestock operations to meet increasing regulatory requirements without compromising economic viability. Through data analysis, artificial intelligence and machine learning models, the platform not only measures emissions but also proposes more than 30 mitigation strategies tailored to each case, selecting those that are technically and economically most efficient in the short, medium and long term.
Carbon Harvesters’ approach is based on a clear premise: reducing emissions should not mean reducing production. Its technology allows key processes—such as fertiliser use or resource management—to be optimised, lowering pollution while at the same time reducing operating costs for farmers.
Beyond the environmental impact, the proposal incorporates a socioeconomic dimension. Carbon Harvesters works to strengthen the sustainability of rural communities, offering farmers a way to actively contribute to the fight against climate change with fair economic compensation, including the valuation of mitigation actions and the promotion of carbon credit markets integrated into the supply chain.
The company completed the development of its product at the end of 2023 and is currently in a scaling and European expansion phase, with an initial focus on the dairy, meat and pork sectors, and a gradual expansion into other industries such as beverages, energy and gas. Its approach has been recognised as Most Sustainable Start-up at ftalks 2024 and Innovation of the Year in Ireland in 2022, consolidating its position as an emerging player in the sustainable transformation of the agri-food sector.
