IPRONICS
Design, development, and manufacture of generic hardware architectures: the central idea of the project focuses on the development of Programmable Integrated Photonics.
iPRONICS is a spin-off of the Universitat Politècnica de València (founded in 2019 from the iTEAM photonics laboratory) that has developed the first software-configurable general-purpose photonic processor. iPRONICS’ technology allows optical signals to be redirected on-chip, offering superior performance in latency, consumption, and density.
Consolidated over the years thanks to its research and development, its authority is based on different patents, publications in Nature, and European support such as Horizon Europe and the EIC; the company, co-founded by Professor José Capmany, merges experience in photonics, electronics, and software to take optical computing to the next level.
iPRONICS democratizes programmable photonics, providing a versatile and scalable platform for engineers without hardware experience to deploy advanced applications quickly; its mission is to unclog electronic hardware bottlenecks and turn data centers into faster, more efficient, and sustainable light-driven infrastructures.
