Design, construction, and piloting of competitive radio-controlled unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The Xtra2 UPV team focuses on the design, construction, and piloting of competitive radio-controlled UAVs, providing sustainable solutions for aerial mobility.
History
Progress towards more sustainable mobility requires solutions capable of optimizing energy consumption to the fullest, especially in the field of experimental air transport.
In this context, Xtra2 UPV develops highly energy-efficient prototypes, integrating disciplines such as aerodynamics, structures, and energy systems to improve performance in sustainable mobility scenarios.
These developments are validated through participation in international competitions, where their efficiency is assessed under real-world conditions. Recent milestones include the development of a new prototype to compete in the Air Cargo Challenge (ACC) 2026, focused on designing aircraft capable of transporting cargo efficiently.
The development of the “Lince” prototype has been a comprehensive engineering challenge, resulting in a twin-engine aircraft with a 2.39 m wingspan, 2.16 m length, and an empty weight of 3 kg. Its ultralight structure enables it to carry up to 15 cans and withstand loads of more than twice its own weight, as well as reach top speeds above 120 km/h and maximize the distance covered in 120-second missions.
