World reference in university engineering and student automotive competition
Formula Student UPV promotes the manufacturing, construction, and competition of formula-type single-seaters in various Formula Student competitions worldwide.
History
The Formula Student team of the Universitat Politècnica de València (FSUPV) designs, manufactures, and validates competition single-seaters within the framework of Formula Student, one of the most demanding international competitions in the field of engineering.
The Valencian team, integrated into the UPV’s Spontaneous Generation project, has competed at Michigan International Speedway (USA) in 2026 against 120 universities from around the world, being the only Spanish representative present in this edition.
The single-seater developed by the team has excelled in both static tests—focused on engineering design, costs, and project presentation—and dynamic tests, where teams evaluate the performance, acceleration, endurance, and efficiency of their vehicles.
The 2026 prototype, the twelfth built by the team, incorporates a carbon fiber monocoque chassis, a new aerodynamic package developed entirely by the students, and a KTM 690 single-cylinder engine, one of the main technical innovations of this edition.
