Mathematical Models of Addictive Behaviour, Medicine & Engineering

The Instituto de Matematica Multidisciplinar fosters yearly conferences on the practical applications of Mathematical models to a broad range of disciplines: Life Sciences, Medicine, Business, Engineering. The conference takes place at the Polytechnic City of Innovation , a research complex of the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia. Discussions on the applications of mathematical techniques and tools to other sciences and disciplines will develop in a multidisciplinary forum where engineers, biologists, physicians, sociologists also participate and share the common language of mathematics and the interest to solve problems by interdisciplinary synergy. The proceedings of the previous conferences have been published by Elsevier: Mathematical Models in Life Sciences & Engineering 2007 are already published at a Special Issue of Computer & Mathematics with Applications, Volume 56, Number 3, August 2008 , Proceedings of Mathematical Models in Medicine & Engineering 2008 are now published as a special issue of Mathematical and Computer Modelling, Vol. 50, 5-6, September 90 . Mathematical and Computer Modelling will also publish the papers corresponding to the next conference. This journal has increased its impact factor to 1.032 (JCR 2008) and it is now ranked alongside the best journals on its field.
